NERR Hoops Festival 17u Recap

The New England Hoops Festival was loaded with talent this past weekend. A number of Division one players were in attendance and a key match ups throughout the event. Here is a look at some of the Varsity division standouts

6’1 G Marcus Zegarowski Expressions-(2017) Heady guard that can facilitate and score at a high level. Zegarowski appears to be a clutch performer nailing a long distance 3 to extend Expressions to overtime with Middlesex Magic.

6’6 Harry O’neil Middlesex Magic-(2016) O’neil is a throwback style big man that has a great skill set and an assortment of low post moves.

6’6 Jermaine Samuels Expressions-(2017) The top 20 prospect flat out dominated the competition. Samuels is a high major athlete with an abundance of perimeter skills.

6’7 Matt Dewolfe Middlesex Magic-(2016) Dewolfe showed low-mid major potential as he showed a high motor and great feel for play.

6’8 Jordan Hardwick Expressions-(2017) A super long athlete with a developing perimeter skill set. Hardwick was a mismatch for opposing swingmen as he showed the ability to take defenders off the bounce.

6’3 Bruce Brown BABC-(2016) He shoots with confidence from all over the court, has a great handle of the basketball and shows tremendous athleticism at both ends of the court.

5’10 Derek Ellis Expressions-(2017) Elite level facilitator that shows the ability to score at a high level.

6’6 David Watkins Rivals-(2016) The lanky wing continues to improve his guard skill set.

5’11” Guilien Smith B2L-(2015) – The Dartmouth College commit could arguably be the best scorer in MIAA. Absolutely filled it up all weekend and made out to be a tough cover for opposing defenders.
