    Rankings have been released and also extended outside of New England and into the Tri-State. At the moment it’s the top 10 prospects in each ranking class. Prospects games grow as the season changes so rankings will to according to the evaluations of prospects. Although we are facing a pandemic of COVID-19 at the moment the Hoop Dreams Magazine staff have been able to evaluate talent through a number of events made available throughout the country. We will be on a look out and look at our recruiting tips article as a resource to garner attention. below is the listed ranking for High Boys/Girls and Middle School hoops.

    Being invited to the Portsmouth Invitational is one of the last achievements of a college student-athletes career. Jared TerrellMatt Mobley and Tyler Nelson knew that. These three have spent years battling one another on the HS/Prep, AAU and even in college all translated to the hard work that level of competition of competition has played.

    Tyler Nelson (Fairfield University) averaged 14.6 points per game to go along with a game winning layup in the title game. Nelson shot 52 percent from the field and 41 percent from deep. Jared Terrell also averaged 14.6 points per page and shot 51 percent from the field. Terrell helped lead his team to a title game appearance. Matt Mobley contributed 11.6 points per game including a 16 point performance in the first contest of the tournament and a 14 point 10 rebound outpouring in his last game.

    Nelson earned himself a spot on the all-tournament team. All three players proved that they belonged.

    49ers Land Tyler Betham

    Tyler Bertram, sharp shooting guard out of Vermont Academy by the way of Cooperstown, NY has committed to play for Head Coach Ron Sanchez and the Charlotte 49ers.

    Bertram, who made a national name for himself after exploding onto the scene during the 2018 Hoop Hall Classic. The 6-foot-4 guard who was a member of the 2019 class will instead enroll at Charlotte as a member of the 2018 class.

    Bertram who is known as one of the better shooters in the region and on the Nike EYBL circuit for the NY Rens chose the 49ers over St. Joseph’s, Rice, George Washington, Brown,  and Hofstra.

    The 49ers only had one recruit in Cooper Robb for their 2018 incoming class. Bertram adds an immediate scoring threat from deep.

    Vermont Academy returns 2020 elite prospect Symir Torrence for the upcoming 2018-19 NEPSAC. Torrence has a list of suitors in hopes of being an asset to their collegiate program.

    Theodore Allen Jr- 2027 5’7 (High Rock Middle School) Massachusetts

    When we say hes the GOODS, we really mean it, has been know as one of the best players in the country for a while now. TJ fits the mold of having “IT” Makes shots, able to use his body to create space, has developed a consistant jump shot which has kept defenders honest. One of the best parts of his game is his playmaking ability, he is able to see the play before it happens. He’s years before his time, he is going to be special.

    Adriel Cantave – 2027 5’2 (Carver Middle School School) Massachusetts

    The work horse was a blur in the open court, making plays and causing havoc on the defensive end. He has a certain flash that makes you gravitate towards his court, we watched him make three big time plays in a row and it didn’t even look like he broke a sweat. He has star potential and he knows it.

    Thomas Sibley- 2027 6’ 2( Westwood Thurston Middle) Massachusetts

    The big guy showcased his ability to make shots as well as finish through contact, he looks to have grown and has a lot more inches to go he is just scratching the surface of how good he can really be. Sibley has worked himself into a player and with more work he will be a big time prospect.

    Ayden Mejia –2028 5’6 (Bradley Elementary School) Massachusetts

    Crafty guard who understands how to play the game of basketball at an early age, made plays all day long on both sides of the ball. Showed that he was one of the better guards at the event, he has a chance to be a big time player as he develops.

    Rowan Merryman – 5’11 2027 (St Mary’s) Lynn Massachusetts

    Has all the tools to be a long term prospect, made play after play while being able to keep defenders honest with his nice display of ball handling ability. Merryman has what it takes to win ball games, heart, dedication and a will to win, he is a promising prospect in this class.

    Hunter Horsey – 2027 5’7 Sippican Middle School Massachusetts

    Big guard who plays like it, Defenders tried rattling or running up on the Horsey and got their feelings hurt. His breakdown moves were on full display as he made play after play, He used his spin move to get to the basket and he had good body control attacking with some acrobatic finishes.
