Northeastern Lands Jeremy Miller

The Northeastern Huskies picked up a verbal commitment from 6-foot-10 face up big man Jeremy Miller of the New Hampton School (NH).

“The relationship with the coaches and the way I felt during the visit,” Miller stated on what it came down to when making his decision.

Miller played for Leo Papile’s BABC AAU program generating interest from Big East and Big Ten schools. Miller is a one-time Boston College pledge until former Head Coach Steve Donahue was relieved of his coaching duties.

“I have a really good chance to play right away and it felt like home to me.”

Miller a resident of Milton, Mass. becomes the second local product to commit in a matter of weeks joining Quincy native Anthony Green of the Tilton School, NH. The two will be matched up against one another during the 2014-15 NEPSAC season.

Miller off the board to Boston College

Boston College defeated Syracuse the #1 team in the nation on Wednesday, on Thursday they received their first 2015 commitment in Jeremy Miller as well as their highest ranked player in Coach Donahue’s four years at Boston College.

Miller is a 6’ 9” forward/ center who will be able to stretch the defense, because of his ability to make the long range shot as well as post up.  The junior forward has improved year to year, but in order to become more effective on the low block he will have to continue to improve his strength.

Miller states, “I chose Boston College because the school really blew me away in different aspects, not just basketball.  I want to major in public relations or communication and BC has my major”

Boston College has gone on record stating that they want to make New England a priority when it comes to recruiting.  Miller attends New Hampton School (NH); is a resident of Milton (MA) and lives about 15 minutes from the Chestnut Hill campus. A few weeks prior Jeremy was present at the Boston College vs. Duke game sitting courtside.

When asked how he felt about the eagles Miller states “I love the coaches and everyone that I talked to, it felt like home since I’m only 15 minutes away.”

Miller held offers from Maryland and Providence College.

Boston College could be on to something, by making local kids a priorities, more kids will take a long hard look at the ACC school located close to there house.  Miller will potentially join his high school teammate Olivier Hanlan who was the ACC rookie of the year last season.

I would like to thank my parents; they are my biggest supports and are always there with me.  Also Pete Hutchins and all my family and friends, Now I can focus on finishing the season off strong winning a AAA championship, then a peach jam championship with BABC”
