On September 9, 2015 New England will host dozens of coaches either on a school’s campus or in a prospects home.
An in home visit can be done in a number ways to insure that a college gets the chance to continue selling his program. Coaches from all levels make in-home visits but New England is home to big time prospects from all over the world. Big time prospects equal big time college programs.
A college coach utilizes his resources to make the best marketing pitch to land the prospect that they’re are one of many schools recruiting him/her. College coaches can pitch their recruitment over the phone to the prospect and their family but with an in home visit doing it in person allows the family to get a better sense of belief.
Take N.C. State for example they’re taking a helicopter ride for their first in home visit of many. The Wolfpack have already separated them from every other program by doing that one particular entrance. It makes you wonder what the rest of the presentation looks like.
An in home visit also allows the coaches to either sway an early decision (depending on the deciding date), convince a prospect to put their program somewhere at the top of the list, or land them an official visit so that they could get a chance to host the prospect and their family on campus.
Also getting a background on where the prospect comes from can also help the coaches reassure if they’re making the right decision.
This week will be busy for a number of available prospects in New England who have some coaches coming in for in home visits this week. Providence will see Wenyen Gabriel, Sedee Keita and Kevin Marfo. Gabriel will also host Duke, and Maryland while Kentucky and UCONN come in the following day. Depaul will be in Thursday to see Travis Atson for an in home visit.
