Tyrique Jones, a 6-foot-8 power forward by made a verbal commitment to Chris Mack and the Xavier Musketeers after visiting the campus over the weekend.
Jones, who attends Vermont Academy (MA), is an explosive athlete with a high motor and a high level rebounder. A physical specimen who likes the contact may draw comparisons to a young Jaylen Reynolds. Reynolds, a former NEPSAC player at Brewster Academy and current Musketeer who Jones will most likely replace after graduation was most known for the same attributes doing his prep years. If Jones can trust Coach Mack the way Reynolds did then his development is in good hands.
Jones becomes the first player in the 2016 class to give a commitment to Coach Mack. Tyrique Jones chose Xavier over Temple, UCONN, URI, Pitt, Boston College, VCU and Kansas St.
