When the nation noticed that their was a high major prospect on the rise in North Royalton, Ohio they didn’t know he would blossom into one of the country’s most dominate do it all bigs that we have seen in quite some time.
Standing at 6’8 as a sophomore, Omari Spellman had the tools to of a guard, and the size of a NBA forward. Spellman took Ohio by storm and proved to be one of the top players in the state.
Both Spellman’s parents played basketball at Youngstown State, and he lived in Cleveland up until the seventh grade. He then moved to New York to live with his father, but returned to Ohio before his freshman year because he was homesick.
Fast-forward to the present, Spellman now attends The McDuffie School (MA) and is of the most sought after prospects in the country. Ranked amongst the top 20 players in the class of 2016, the world will have their hands full when Spellman steps on the court. MacDuffie has been a frequent stop for all high major coaches to see what we call the “BIG TICKET”
“I’m looking for the school that is the right fit for me and I have now cut my list to 15 schools”
Kentucky, Villanova, Ohio State, UCLA, UConn, Pitt, Arizona, Miami, West Virginia, Virginia, Florida, Indiana, Wake Forest, St. John’s and Seton Hall in no order.
“I’m currently 6’9. 5 and I’m down to 270 lbs, I’ve been working hard to become a better person and player everyday” Spellman and the McDuffie School will participate in this years Hoop Dreams Magazine Prep Classic. Bunker Hill Community College, Boston MA. There will be a long list of coaches at the event to see one of the nations best.
