In our first Boston City League action we made our way to one of the city’s newest grudge matches. Both programs have had their taste of success at some point and time, but like the old saying “what have you done for me lately”. The New Mission Titians started the game with a purpose, as if they collectively just finished listing to Jay-Z’ s (I will not lose verse) before tip off. They controlled the game from start to finish taking a commanding 40-22 halftime lead. Shaquan Murray made it look easy at times, as he directed traffic easily breaking the Charlestown pressure.
Charlestown made a run at a comeback but New Mission refused to let up, they played as if they where at the DCU Center competing for a state championship. When you play that hard for 4 quarters you control your own destiny. A portion of this win has to go to the New Mission student body who acts as the 6th man creating the hostile environment which makes it uncomfortable for any opposing team.
At the end New Mission proved that they where in midseason form and came away with the 76-46 win.
New Mission: Shaquan Murray 23 Pts / Asante Sandiford 9 Pts / Randy Glenn 10 Pts
Charlestown: Freddy Oliveira 14 Pts
