In honor of this Thursday we thought we would give you a bit of a throwback, as we go back to the debut of Vermont Academies stellar sophomore class at this year’s Elite 75 Frosh/Soph edition. Coach Cody Hatt has four of top 15 prospects and arguably the best group of sophomores in New England, Bruce Brown, Christian Vital, Sedee Keita and KJ Santos.
Sedee Keita is a 6’9 face up four, who has the ability to put the ball on the floor, can knock down open jump shots and runs the floor really well. He’s a one-man fast break, very comfortable in the open floor, but may be the most dangerous offensively in the pick and roll.
KJ Santos is a pure shooting guard. Standing at 6’7, Santos has one of the purist jumper’s we’ve seen in awhile. His length allows him to be a good defender, he does a great job attacking the rim, and creating for others.
Bruce Brown 6’3 is a do it all wing. He is strong, athletic, and is great defender. Brown is somewhat of a glue guy, where the team may let up a player like Bruce does a good job of masking it with his toughness and his ability to do a lot of the little things well.
Christian Vital 6’1 is tough New York guard with an attack mode mentality. He has a consistent enough jump shot that can force defenders to play up on him, which works in his favor as he loves to attack the rim.
The future is looking very bright for VA basketball, as the four sophomores will only get better with time. Here is footage of the four at Elite 75 frosh/soph edition.
