Columbus Day Challenge Standouts

 

 

 

Here is a look at the players that stood out during the Columbus day event.

 

Devandre Edmonds(Shooting Stars)- At 6’2 the rising 7th grader dominated competition while playing with the Shooting Stars. Edmonds can hit the midrange shot and changes the game on the defensive end.

Jermaine Samuels(CBC)- Samuels solidified himself as the top player on the CBC team as he clearly was the spark that made his team go. Samuels is very atheltic and has shown an improved outside shot. Samuels is oozing with potential

Shyheim Hicks(Expressions) Hicks was on fire throughout the weekend scoring 8 threes on Sunday. Hicks can score in bunches and has begun to develop a consistent outside stroke.

Keandre Fair(CBC) Fair starred in the showdown vs Expressions Elite 14u team scoring 28 points in the contest. Fair was simply unstoppable and showed a variety of high major moves to the basket.

Kimani Lawrence(Expressions) Lawrence played with a short handed Expressions Elite 14u team in the 15u age bracket and was arguably the top player throughout the weekend. Lawrence seemed to have grown an extra inch and showed he is one of the top Class of 2017 prospects in the country.

Kahari Beaufort(CT Hawks) Beaufort was sensational vs CBC on Saturday scoring 28 points. Beaufort’s outside shot was falling and bullied his way to the basket. A productive weekend for Beaufort!

Marcos Echeverria(NE Playaz) Echeverria¬† 5’8 point guard did a solid job running the show for the playaz. Echeverria is a prototypical point guard and did a great job distributing the ball.

Aaron Mclean( NE Playaz) Mclean looked extra bouncy throughout the weekend and was all over the offensive glass for the Playaz.

Arkel Ager(CBC) 6’5 Swingman scored in a variety of ways for CBC. Most impressed with Agers ability to post up defenders and step out and hit the outside shot.
