Daquein McNeil Commits to Florida International University

Daquein McNeil has made another positive step in the right direction; the first step took place in the summer of 2010.

When Coach Jesse Bopp was hired as the Head boys basketball coach at Vermont Academy, he began to search high and low for student athletes that had the same beliefs as he did. Competitors in the classroom as well as competitors on the basketball court.

Sunday Daquein McNeil committed to Florida International University, where he will play for coach Richard Pitino. FIU will be moving into Conference USA beginning next season, coach Pitino and staff will be receiving a player who knows what it takes to be successful and understands sacrifice.

What McNeil brings to the program? A player who knows how to create his own offence as well as create offense for others.  A Maryland native, who played his grassroots basketball with Baltimore Elite, McNeil will look to make an impact as soon as he steps foot on campus.

Look for McNeil and Vermont Academy to make a splash this season, as they have refocused and have a one team one heart beat approach
