Arizona State Head Coach Bob Hurley comes in to New England to land his second commitment in two years. Hurley a New Jersey native utilized his resources back a little east coast flavor to the west coast.
Kimani Lawrence announced this morning during a press conference his intentions to attend Arizona St. and become a Sun devil.
Lawrence, a 6-foot-7 wing who attends the New Hampton School (NH) has really elevated his game over the course of this year seeing his recruitment expand from coast to coast. While playing on the Nike EYBL circuit, Lawrence was looked to score and defend on the wing. A similar role he will play at Arizona St.
The extremely athletic forward possess a smooth skill set with the ability to put the ball on the floor and create offense for himself. Lawrence has a nice shooting stroke for a player deemed to play on the wing.
Playing in a competitive league like the pac-12 prepares Lawrence to play at the highest level after school as he’s beginning to scratch the surface. From the best prep league (NEPSAC) to now one best conferences in the country gives a taste of Kimani’s prep work before moving onto to his next goal in life.
The Pac-12 has seen recent success with Sun Devils alumni James Harden, DeMar Derozan (USC), Kevin Love (UCLA), Russell Westbrook (UCLA), Jaylen Brown (CAL). Where Kimani Lawrence stacks up against those guys is yet to be seen. But what we do know is that coach Hurley is getting a player who will make an immediate impact from day 1.
