Around this time last fall Shyheim Hicks picked up an offer from LIU Brooklyn. Fast forward a year and almost two week later Hicks is now calling LIU his new academic home Fall 2017.
Hicks, a 6-foot-1 combo guard gave a verbal commitment to head coach Jack Perri being the Blackbirds first 2017 commit.
Hicks is well known for his high level scoring at Commonwealth Academy. Hicks became coach Tony Bergeron first 1,000 point scorer at Commonwealth Academy but has played well into the role of a good defender. At the division 1 level expect Shyheim to have the same impact he does on the prep level in New England. The consistent drive and work ethic of Hicks keeps him on the floor.
LIU has also offered Commonwealth Academy teammates Jordan Vidal and Derrick Ellis Jr.
