Bede To Virginia Tech

Mr. Summer 16. Wabissa Bede had one of the biggest breakout performances of any prospect in the 2017 class and division 1 programs from across the country came calling for his services.

Bede eventually narrowed his list down to LaSalle, Butler, UMass, Minnesota and Virginia Tech. This afternoon on the Cushing Academy campus where he attends school, Bede announced his decision to attend.

The 6-foot-1 Cushing Academy point guard was named MVP of the Adidas Uprising Championships when he helped lead his Mass Rivals AAU team to a national title.

Butler earned the first visit from Bede and thought to have been a favorite from the beginning. The Bulldogs recently landed 6-foot-7 wing Christian David of Vermont Academy.

UMass has friend and former AAU teammate Chris Baldwin. LaSalle also has friend and former AAU teammate Saul Phiri.

But Bede wanted to blaze his own trail to the state of Virginia. Joining Nickeil Alexander-Walker in the backcourt to form one of the better freshmen guard tandems in the 2017 class.
