For UConn men’s basketball when you think of point guards, Shabazz Napier and Jalen Adams come to mind. But now you can add Makai Ashton-Langford to a list of New England point guards that will look to add towards the legacy of Husky greats.
Makai had a decision to make when deciding between UConn and Providence. The Friars had pulled out all the stops when Kris Dunn was on campus during Makai’s visit to Providence. UConn had a point guard of their own on campus in Kevin Ollie. Ollie who has already landed Jalen Adams (a former AAU teammate of Makai) in a previous class knew his luck could strike again.
Makai Ashton-Langford, a Worcester, Mass. native is one of the premier point guards in the country and will be competing his prep career at Brewster Academy (NH). A school that has produced UConn players Jeff Adrien and Jalen Adams.
Right now UConn has Makai Ashton-Langford as their only member of the 2017 recruit class after 7-foot-1 big man Zach Brown decommitted back in January. But the Huskies aren’t done yet as they look to replace three seniors after this year and two of them being guards put Ashton-Langford in a good place to contribute early on in his college career.
